About

I grew up in Sand Springs, Oklahoma, just outside Tulsa. After high school (1998), God led me to The Master’s College where I studied biblical languages and got involved in student leadership. After graduation (2002), Cindi and I stayed in Southern California, got married, and joined the Student Life team. During those years, I did my M.Div. and Th.M. at The Master’s Seminary while serving as a Resident Director and Associate Dean of Men (2002–2010).

After 12 years in California, God led us to Southern Seminary in Louisville, Kentucky to finish my  education. There I did a Ph.D. in Biblical Theology while serving as the Director of Student Life at Boyce College, Southern’s undergraduate school (2010–1015). Near the end of our time in Louisville, I joined the faculty teaching spiritual life dynamics and biblical counseling (2016–2017).

God then called our family to Houston, Texas, where I served as Lead Pastor at BridgePoint Bible Church for 7 years (2017–2024).

Most recently, God has called us from the Gulf Coast to the East Coast, where I now serve as the Dean of Faculty at the Christian Counseling & Educational Foundation (CCEF) just outside Philadelphia. CCEF is a practical theology think tank, counseling center, and publishing house.

Along the way, Cindi and I have adopted 4 kids who are now teenagers, along with our beloved dog Thurmond. Outside of ministry activities, I enjoy sports, the outdoors, reading, and hole-in-the-wall restaurants.
