I grew up with three brothers in northeast Oklahoma, attended college and seminary near Los Angeles, moved to Louisville to finish my formal education, and now live in Louisville with my wife and four kids. Cindi and I married in 2002, and the kids came home in 2007 and 2011.

We worship with Fellowship Church in east Louisville where we’ve been welcomed, loved, and taught for the past five years. In the past we’ve served as children’s teachers and small group leaders. We now train and coach Gospel Community Group leaders and I preach once a month.
Since 2010 I’ve worked at Boyce College, the undergraduate school of The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. I served as Director of Student Life Programs (2010-2011), Director of Student Life (2011-2016), and Seminary Track Program Coordinator (2016). I’m now an Assistant Professor of Biblical Counseling.

I’m curious about everything, but write mostly about theology, ministry, and culture — specifically biblical theology, pastoral and practical theology, culture and current events, and biblical counseling and psychology (CV available upon request). I’ve always enjoyed meeting new people and I’d love to hear from you.
